In this example PABX A and PABX B have their G703 ports set to CLOCK SLAVE. PA2000 A and PA2000 B have their G703 ports set to CLOCK MASTER. The PA2000s are linked by a direct ethernet link : there are no IP routers in the data path. The ethernet link could be a local ethernet service (e.g. BT LES 100) or a wireless LAN link.

1.Connect the G703 Tx port of PA2000 A to the G703 Rx port of PABX A.

2. Connect the G703 Rx port of PA2000 A to the G703 Tx port PABX A.

3. Connect the G703 Tx port of PA2000 B to the G703 Rx port of PABX B.

4. Connect the G703 Rx port of PA2000 B to the G703 Tx port PABX B.

5. Use the supplied console cable to connect each PA2000 to a serial terminal or PC. The serial settings are 9600 baud, 8 bit data, 1 stop bit and no parity.

6. Connect LAN2 of each PA2000 to the ethernet link.
